Dental Crowns in Bedford, Bloomington, Greenwood, and Indianapolis, IN

Dental crowns are effective restorations when teeth are lost or severely damaged. Our crowns look natural and offer much-needed assistance with chewing and speaking. We use high-quality materials to ensure the restorations last as long as possible and provide exceptional performance.

We ensure your dental crowns blend in seamlessly with your existing teeth and will function like natural teeth. Often, buildups are needed in addition to the crown. This involves replacing missing tooth structure with a special filling material that can support the crown.

Crown Home Care Instructions

  • DO NOT DRIVE OR DRINK ALCOHOL WHEN TAKING PAIN MEDICATION
  • DO NOT EAT OR DRINK for at least 30 minutes after the crown has been placed.
  • Avoid eating hard, sticky, or chewy foods for at least 24 hours after your appointment.
  • Occasionally, a new crown can make your tooth slightly sensitive to chewing and hot or cold temperatures. This should reside in a few days or in some cases, may last a couple weeks.
    • If this sensitivity persists beyond two weeks or worsens at any point, please contact our office at 812-339-3427.
  • You may resume normal teeth brushing, but it is advised to brush gently around the area as the gum tissue may be sensitive for a couple days following treatment.
    • After 24-48 hours, you may resume normal flossing around the new crown.
    • Use any mouth rinse as you would normally
  • Allow a few weeks for your tongue to get used to the new crown. At first, it may feel different due to more “nooks and crannies” on the biting surface. This surface anatomy makes your tooth look like it did when it first appeared in your
    mouth.
  • Use Tylenol or Ibuprofen as needed for pain
  • Contact our office right away at 812-339-3427 if you develop any of the following:
    • Movement or looseness in the restoration
    • Sensitivity to sweet foods
    • Peculiar taste from the restoration site
    • Breakage of a piece of material from the restoration
    • Sensitivity to pressure
